The Astros have placed 29-year old righty swinging outfielder Justin Maxwell on the 7-day D.L., retroactive to June 29th, due to a concussion. Maxwell has played in 28 games for the Astros so far this year and he is 23 of 98 (.236 avg, .673 OPS) with 13 runs scored, 1 homer, 6 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. The Astros have called up 24-year old switch-hitting outfielder Jimmy Paredes to replace Maxwell on the active roster. Paredes played in 31 games for the Astros earlier this year and he was 16 for 84 (.190 avg, .516 OPS) with 6 runs scored, 1 homer, 7 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. The Astros hope that Maxwell returns soon and that Paredes is better this time around.
