34-year old lefty starting pitcher Erik Bedard has been strong so far in June for the Astros. He has started 5 games for the Astros in June and he is 3-1 with a 3.19 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. Bedard gave up 27 hits and 10 walks while whiffing 24 batters in 31 innings in June for the Astros. Bedard has now pitched in 16 games (14 starts) for the Astros last year and he was 3-3 with 1 save, a 4.44 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. Bedard has a good arm as evidenced by his 66 whiffs so far this year, which is second on the Astros, behind only Bud Norris (71 K’s). If Bedard keeps pitching so well, teams are going to start calling about him next month.
