25-year old righty starting pitcher Brad Peacock was a big part of the return (along with Chris Carter) in the Jed Lowrie deal with the A’s over the winter. Peacock came into the 2013 season as the A’s #4 prospect according to Baseball America. Peacock has pitched in 17 games (13 starts) for the Astros overall this year and he is 5-5 with a 5.24 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. He has given up 72 hits (14 homers) and 36 walks while whiffing 70 batters in his first 77 1/3 innings for the Astros this year. Peacock has pitched in 8 games (all starts) since August 1st and he is 4-2 with a 3.54 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. Peacock is likely going to be in the Astros’ rotation for 2014 and beyond.
