29-year old lefty reliever Sergio Escalona has been suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball due to his involvement with the Biogenesis Lab in Miami. Escalona pitched in 12 games (0 starts) in AA-ball for the Astros this year and he was 1-2 with 1 save, a 6.60 ERA and a 2.07 WHIP. Escalona has pitched in 63 games (0 starts) in his first two years in the majors and he is 3-1 with a 3.48 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. This could really effect Escalona’s standing with the Astros.
