23-year old righty swinging 3B Matt Dominguez is an outstanding defensive 3B and he has been productive with the bat so far this year for the Astros. Dominguez has played in 80 games for the Astros so far this year and he is 64 of 283 (.226 avg, .648 OPS) with 28 runs scored, 11 homers and 44 RBIs. He is leading the Astros in RBIs so far this year with 44 of them. He is also #5 in runs scored (28) and he’s tied for #2 in homers with 11 of them so far this year for the Astros. Dominguez has now played in 111 games in his first two years in the majors and he is 95 of 392 (.242 avg, .686 OPS) with 42 runs scored, 16 homers and 60 RBIs. He was acquired along with pitcher Rob Rasmussen for Carlos Lee on July 4, 2012. It looks like this trade is really going to pan out for the Astros.
