The Houston Astros have lost 25-year old lefty swinging infielder Nolan Fontana on waivers from the Los Angeles Angels. Fontana played in 116 games in AA+AAA-ball last year and he was 80 for 395 (.203 avg, .555 OPS) with 39 runs scored, 3 homers, 31 RBI and 5 stolen bases. Fontana has now played in 452 games in his first five years in the minors and he is 361 of 1,522 (.237 avg, .726 OPS) with 253 runs scored, 17 homers, 182 RBI and 44 stolen bases. This isn’t much of a loss moving forward for the Astros.
