The Astros have signed 30-year old righty swinging SS Ronny Cedeno. Cedeno played in 78 games for the Mets last year and he was 43 of 166 (.259 avg, .741 OPS) with 18 runs scored, 4 homers and 22 RBIs. He has now played in 779 games in his first 8 years in the majors and he is 565 of 2,292 (.247 avg, .647 OPS) with 241 runs scored, 37 homers, 218 RBIs and 34 stolen bases. Cedeno could win the starting shortstop job for the Astros, if he looks good next week.
