Switch-hitting 2B Bill Doran was a rock solid player for the Houston Astros. He played in 1,165 games in his 9 years with the Astros and he was 1,139 of 4,264 (.267 avg, .729 OPS) with 611 runs scored, 69 homers, 404 RBIs and 191 stolen bases. His best season without a doubt for the Astros was in 1987. Doran played in 162 games for the Astros in 1987 and he was 177 for 625 (.283 avg, .772 OPS) with 82 runs scored, 16 homers, 79 RBIs and 31 stolen bases. Doran is still #9 in runs scored in Astros’ history with 611 of them. He is also #9 in hits (1,139), #10 in triples (35), #7 in walks (585) and he’s tied for 8th in stolen bases (191) with Enos Cabell in Astros’ history.
